What Is Curling & Coffee?
At Hyvinkää Curling Hall, we host weekly Curling & Coffee sessions where enjoyable physical activity, good company, and a shared coffee break come together. We start with relaxed curling games, and afterwards everyone gathers for coffee to chat about the day’s topics and share memories.
The sessions are especially intended for retirees and shift workers, but anyone interested in curling is warmly welcome.
Schedule
- Wednesdays 12:00–14:00 (odd weeks)
- Thursdays 12:00–14:00 (even weeks)
Game Formats
During Curling & Coffee sessions, you can throw stones using:
- Traditional sliding delivery
- Stick delivery (Stick Curling)
Stick curling is easy to learn and suitable for everyone, ensuring that all participants can join the game and enjoy playing. No previous curling experience is required.
Pricing
- 10 € per session (incl. VAT)
- 100 € for the full season (incl. VAT)
The price includes curling and coffee. Sweet pastries are often available for purchase to enjoy with your coffee.

Stick Curling Rules (Summary)
- Teams: Two players who alternate roles as thrower and skip
- Positions: Players remain at opposite ends of the sheet
- Turns: Each player throws six stones per end; six ends per game
- Delivery: Stones may be thrown with a slide or with a stick
- In Play: A stone is in play once it crosses the far hog line
- Sweeping: Not allowed between the hog lines
- Free Guard Zone: First three stones cannot be removed until the fourth throw
- Timeouts: Two timeouts per team (90 seconds each); one allowed in an extra end
- Ties: Extra ends are played until a winner is determined
